An opportunity has arisen with my client for a Configuration & Change Lead to join them on an initial 11 -month contract. As a Configuration & Change Lead you responsible for leading and managing aircraft changes across the Wing perimeter, from initial change request through to implementation and modification closure. Reporting to the Head of WB CM Wing & UK Operations, the successful candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure changes are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget across complex widebody aircraft programmes.

Pay: £40 per hour via Umbrella Company
Location: Filton
Contract: 11 Months
Hours: Monday - Friday, 375hours per week
Security Clearance: BPSS

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage aircraft configuration and modification changes across the Wing perimeter throughout the programme lifecycle.
  • Act as Project Change Leader (PCL), coordinating cross-functional teams including Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance and suppliers.
  • Drive Change Requests through the full change process, ensuring technical, cost, schedule and risk impacts are assessed and managed.
  • Prepare and manage change dossiers including budgets, implementation plans, risks, opportunities and embodiment strategy.
  • Ensure approved modifications are delivered on time, on cost and to quality requirements.
  • Manage a portfolio of complex aircraft changes across multiple suppliers, sites and ATA chapters.
  • Identify programme risks and issues, implement mitigation plans and provide regular progress reporting to stakeholders.
  • Support Aircraft Risk Management (ARM) activities and material shortage/obsolescence management through AMCC Board participation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote collaboration, knowledge sharing and team development.

Skillset/experience required:

  • 5 years degree in engineering or equivalent with a proven experience
  • Knowledge of the overall configuration management process (CM certification would be a plus)
  • Project Management skills (PM certification would be a plus)
  • Airframe engineering knowledge
  • Ability to negotiate and take initiative
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Team spirit
  • Fluent level in English
