Doncaster based company, Field Based Role – South Yorkshire
Permanent Role, up to £35k DOE + Overtime, Bonuses and Shift allowances.
Our client is a leading European provider of analytical testing services across air, water, dust, soil, asphalt and a wide range of construction materials. They are expanding their operation in Doncaster and looking to recruit an experienced Materials Testing, Geotechnical, CMT Field, Asphalt or Soils & Concrete Technician. Applicants must have site experience for this round of recruitment.
As a construction materials technician, you will carry out on-site sampling and testing of construction materials in accordance with British and European Standards. You will work closely with clients, support colleagues, and ensure accurate, high quality test data is produced.
A typical day for a construction materials technician will involve the following:
Conduct on-site sampling and in-situ testing of construction materials.
Liaise professionally with clients and site personnel.
Prepare, record, and present test data accurately.
Support colleagues with test methods and procedures.
Cross-check calculations and results for quality assurance.
Perform daily vehicle checks, routine maintenance, and maintain cleanliness.
Assist with sample preparation when required.
To be considered for the role of construction materials technician you will have the following:
GCSE Grade C and above / Grade 4 - 9 in Maths, English and one science subject with good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experienced in Geotechnical or ground materials testing and full UK driving licence.
Strong customer-facing communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work within a quality system.
Reliable, punctual and well-organised.
Positive attitude and adaptability to new systems and procedures.
Benefits of the construction materials technician include:
Salary: up to £35,000 p/a depending on skills, abilities and experience.
Bonus: Overtime after 40 hrs. and bonuses paid for overnight stays and weekend working.
Hours: Usually Monday to Friday, 40 hrs per week, sometimes working up to 60 hrs including weekends.
Holidays: 22 plus stats (usually 8).
