Summary
We’re looking for an experienced Cost Engineer to join a growing team on a major MOD contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical and communication skills who enjoys working in detail and providing valuable financial insight to project teams. You’ll be based in Warrington two days per week with hybrid working flexibility.
Salary Up to £60 per hour inside IR35
Location and Working Pattern Hybrid role with two days per week on-site in Warrington. Full-time position.
Client Overview
We are seeking a Cost Engineer to support a fully billable MOD contract.
Responsibilities
- Apply professional project controls processes and systems
- Manage project set-up, close-out and reconciliations
- Ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting
- Deliver cost forecasting and financial analysis
- Monitor revenue and gross margin performance
- Produce client-specific and internal reporting, including monthly project reviews
- Support project managers with change control, risk management and earned value analysis
- Maintain project documentation and quality standards
- Current SC clearance
- Sole UK nationality (as required by MOD)
- Proven experience in cost engineering or project controls
- Strong Excel skills with advanced analysis ability
- Confident communicator with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to attend Warrington office two days per week
- Knowledge of earned value management
- Experience with bids, proposals and change control processes
- Familiarity with risk and opportunity management
