What You'll Do
Lead the classroom: Act as the cover supervisor taking charge of pre-planned lessons across various subjects.
Command the room: Utilize excellent behaviour management skills to keep students focused, on-task, and respectful.
Ensure safety and focus: Maintain a structured, positive learning environment in the teacher's absence.
Be a helpful guide: Assist students with the work set by the absent teacher, ensuring they understand the instructions.
Follow school policies: Implement the school's behaviour and rewards systems consistently.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for individuals who possess the presence and confidence to run a classroom. You are a great fit if you:
Have exceptional behaviour management skills-you can command respect and handle challenging situations with a calm, assertive demeanor.
Are comfortable stepping into the role of an unqualified teacher, showing adaptability across different subjects.
Have experience working with groups of teenagers (e.g., coaching, youth work, camp leading, military, or higher education lecturing).
Are reliable, resilient, and possess a strong classroom presence.
Hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to obtain one).
