Cover Supervisor – Secondary School

Pay: £101–£121 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (Term Time Only)

A successful secondary school in Hertfordshire is seeking a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join its team from September 2026.
This Cover Supervisor role is ideal for graduates considering a teaching career, experienced support staff looking for progression, or anyone passionate about working with young people. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise lessons during teacher absences, deliver pre-planned work, and ensure students remain engaged and focused on learning.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise classes across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials.
• Maintain positive classroom behaviour.
• Support students in completing assigned work.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons.
• Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Confidence leading groups of secondary-aged students.
• Professional, adaptable and proactive approach.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with young people is desirable.
