Crane Operator (Fixed Term Contract)
Salary: £38,522 per annum
Job Type: Fixed Term Contract for 12 months
Hours: Full time start at 06.30
Location: Wallsend
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Crane Operator to join our Production team on a fixed term contract basis.
This is a hands-on role supporting lifting operations, equipment handling and daily production activities within a busy workshop environment.
The successful candidate will play an important part in maintaining a safe, organised and efficient working environment while assisting production technicians with day-to-day duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating cranes safely within production areas
- Carrying out rigging, slinging and lifting duties
- Supporting production technicians with daily operational duties
- Carrying out general workshop housekeeping, including sweeping, floor cleaning and waste disposal
- Completing local driving duties for deliveries and collections
- Following all health and safety procedures and company policies
- Assisting with other related duties as required
Skills & Experience Required
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Strong team player with a proactive attitude
- Health & Safety focused mindset
- Full UK driving licence essential
- Forklift licence essential (16T FLT licence desirable)
- Valid crane operator licence essential
- Slinging and lifting qualifications essential
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who is dependable, safety-conscious and experienced in lifting operations within a production or workshop environment. Previous crane operating experience is highly desirable.
