Crating / Packing Technician (Hazardous, high value)

NEUTRA

Crating/packing technician (Hazardous and high value goods) – Wallingford, Oxon/Thame

Based in Wallingford, Oxon, we are a unique company that produces autonomous robots for the warehousing and logistics industry.  These are complex and heavy products with electronics, vision systems, batteries and a range of accessories.  We have a special culture here, and having a can-do at any cost mindset is paramount.

This is a permanent role, based on site, 5 days a week on day shifts, but flexibility to work late or on an early shift pattern will be required.  It’s hard work here – often frustrating but also immensely rewarding.  We are not seeking people wanting a transactional 9-to-5 job, but someone who can grow with the company, improve things and who has a drive to be successful

What you will do

  • Precision Packing: ‘White gloves’ custom pack and secure high-value robots and spares into specialised transit cases, ensuring they are protected against all transit conditions
  • Mechanical Assembly: Use manual and power tools, including screwdrivers and impact drivers to secure robots and seal heavy-duty export crates
  • Safe Loading: Safely manoeuvre robots and large-scale equipment onto vans and transport vehicles using heavy duty FLT
  • Inventory Accuracy: Document all outgoing shipments, ensuring conclusive paperwork for all outbound shipments
  • Dangerous Goods Handling: Multi-Modal shipping of Dangerous Goods by Air, Sea and Road.
  • Warehouse Operations: Operate a forklift to move heavy crates and manage space within the dispatch area to maintain an agile, high-performance workflow

What you will need:

  • Tool Proficiency: Proven experience using hand and power tools (specifically impact drivers and screwdrivers) for technical assembly or heavy-duty packing
  • High Value Handling: Experience working with fragile, high-value, or sensitive equipment where attention to detail is paramount
  • Logistics Experience: Background in warehouse operations, shipping, or fulfilment; experience with “dangerous goods” export is an advantage
  • Physical Capability: Ability to handle the physical demands of moving large robots and loading transport vehicles
  • Forklift Certification: A valid forklift license is highly desirable.
  • The correct mindset: A "one team" attitude, the ambition to learn the robotics field from the ground up, and a commitment to high standards
  • Multimodal Dangerous Goods Shipping experience desirable (IATA, IMDG, ADR)
  • Be eligible to work in UK indefinitely

  • Rewarding and engaging work.  Demanding but great sense of team
  • Private healthcare
