Customer Service Transport Operator

We are seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Customer Service Transport Operator to join our client's busy transport team based in . The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer transport volumes on a daily basis, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to our customers.
Working within a fast-paced transport environment, you will act as a key point of contact between customers and operational teams, helping to resolve issues efficiently while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage customers' daily transport volumes, ensuring all requirements are planned and communicated effectively.
- Liaise with Maritime operational and transport teams to resolve any service issues or operational challenges.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing a high standard of customer service at all times.
- Monitor transport movements and proactively communicate updates to customers.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries, concerns, and service issues promptly.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of transport management systems.
- Produce and update reports using Microsoft Excel and other IT systems.
- Support the wider transport operation to ensure service levels and customer expectations are consistently achieved.
- Work collaboratively as part of a successful and dynamic team environment.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Previous experience within the transport, logistics, or haulage industry.
- Strong understanding of transport operations and customer service requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience dealing directly with customers in a professional environment.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Good problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Comfortable working with transport management and IT systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a transport planning, customer service, or logistics coordination role.
- Knowledge of container logistics and maritime transport operations.
- Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS).
