Lynx Employment Services are recruiting for a Customer Support Agent to join a busy customer service team in Sheffield.

This is a full-time temporary position working 40 hours per week, with 8-hour shifts on a Monday to Friday rota. Please note that while there may be future opportunities, we cannot guarantee that this temporary role will lead to a permanent position.

Job Purpose

You will be responsible for communicating directly with customers via telephone, email, social media and face-to-face channels. The role involves handling enquiries and service requests from members of the public regarding services provided by Veolia on behalf of Sheffield City Council.

You will deliver both reactive and proactive customer service, helping Veolia achieve its contractual performance standards and customer service targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Process service requests accurately using internal systems.
  • Communicate with customers via telephone, email, social media and face-to-face interactions.
  • Resolve customer issues and provide updates where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer contacts and actions taken.
  • Support the achievement of service delivery and call handling targets.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and operational teams to ensure excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Previous customer service experience is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT and data entry skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple enquiries.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A positive, professional and customer-focused approach.
