Working Pattern:

Option 1

  • Monday: 9:30am - 4:30pm

  • Tuesday: 9:30am - 4:00pm

  • Wednesday: 9:30am - 4:00pm

Option 2

  • Wednesday: 9:30am - 4:30pm

  • Thursday: 9:30am - 4:00pm

  • Friday: 9:30am - 4:00pm

We are recruiting for a DA Refuge Practitioner to join a specialist refuge service supporting BAME and refugee women and children affected by domestic abuse, violence, honour-based abuse and other crisis situations.

Working within refuge accommodation, you will provide practical and emotional support, complete risk and needs assessments, develop support plans, support refuge admissions and work closely with housing, safeguarding and partner agencies to help women achieve safety and independence.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable women, children or families

  • Knowledge of domestic abuse, safeguarding and risk management

  • Experience with support planning and case management

  • Fluent in English and at least one BAME community language

  • Strong communication, advocacy and IT skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
