Damp & Mould Surveyor – Social Housing Provider – Bristol/Somerset 
£49,466 per annum 
37 Hours per week
Permanent Contract

An exciting opportunity has become available with a leading Social Housing provider for an experienced Damp & Mould Surveyor to support the delivery of customer focused repairs and complex works across their housing stock.
This role will focus heavily on Damp & Mould, HHSRS and complex building defect cases, managing projects from initial inspection through to completion while ensuring excellent customer service throughout.

Overview of the role
  • Manage Damp & Mould, condensation and complex repairs cases from inception to completion
  • Carry out inspections across occupied homes and communal areas
  • Diagnose building defects and identify appropriate remedial solutions
  • Produce detailed reports, specifications and scopes of work
  • Manage contractors and monitor project delivery
  • Support disrepair and HHSRS related cases
  • Carry out post-inspection quality checks and audits
  • Work closely with residents, leaseholders and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery
Responsibilities
  • Undertake Damp & Mould inspections and technical surveys
  • Diagnose defects through building pathology investigations and testing
  • Manage projects within budget and agreed timescales
  • Prepare specifications, quotations and tender documentation
  • Support section 20 notices and disrepair related documentation
  • Monitor contractor performance and quality of works
  • Carry out post works inspections ensuring works are completed to required standards
  • Liaise with local authorities and external stakeholders where required
  • Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety and CDM regulations
Requirements
  • Proven experience within Damp & Mould, Disrepair or Building Surveying
  • Strong understanding of HHSRS and social housing repairs
  • Experience managing contractors and multiple live projects
  • Knowledge of building pathology and defect diagnosis
  • Experience producing specifications and technical reports
  • Good understanding of CDM and Health & Safety regulations
  • Formal Building qualification such as HNC, HND, Degree or RICS accredited qualification
  • Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
  • Experience within planned works or voids
  • Additional H&S or specialist building qualifications
  • Experience identifying asbestos
