We're recruiting for a Depot Manager to join a well-established equipment and materials handling business in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operational leader to take ownership of a busy depot, overseeing people, processes, fleet management, and customer service while driving performance across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

As Depot Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the depot by:

  • Overseeing daily depot operations and workflow
  • Managing forklift fleet availability, servicing, and maintenance schedules
  • Coordinating forklift deliveries, collections, and transportation
  • Supervising workshop, service, and depot teams
  • Planning and allocating resources to meet operational demands
  • Tracking performance, costs, and productivity targets
  • Maintaining accurate operational, maintenance, and inventory records
  • Working closely with sales, service, and logistics teams
  • Recruiting, training, and developing staff
  • Driving continuous improvement in efficiency, service quality, and customer satisfaction


What we're looking for:

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Experience within the forklift, plant, HGV, or powered access sectors
  • A strong background as a manager within a depot, workshop, or operational environment
  • Previous experience in a leadership role such as a service manager or similar
  • Strong organisational and people management skills
  • A focus on customer service, safety, and operational excellence
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
