Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s Home

Location: Winsford, Cheshire (CW7)
Salary: Up to £42,500 per year
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Pattern

  • 3 administrative days + 1 shift per week
  • Includes evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties (paid allowance)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join a high-quality residential children’s home supporting young people who have experienced trauma and challenging behaviours.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader ready to step up, or an existing Deputy Manager looking to join a supportive, therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered/Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
  • Lead and supervise the staff team to deliver high-quality care
  • Deputise in the absence of the Home Manager
  • Ensure care plans are implemented effectively to meet young people’s needs
  • Contribute to shift planning and staff deployment
  • Work in partnership with external professionals and agencies
  • Deliver and support direct work with young people
  • Lead and participate in MDT (multi-disciplinary) meetings
  • Provide staff supervision in line with Ofsted standards

Requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in residential childcare
  • At least 12 months’ experience working with young people with challenging behaviour (including 6 months at senior level)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People (or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience acting as an appropriate adult
  • Minimum age requirement: 21 years
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
