Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s Home

Salary: Up to £42,500 per year
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern
- 3 administrative days + 1 shift per week
- Includes evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties (paid allowance)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join a high-quality residential children’s home supporting young people who have experienced trauma and challenging behaviours.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader ready to step up, or an existing Deputy Manager looking to join a supportive, therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered/Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
- Lead and supervise the staff team to deliver high-quality care
- Deputise in the absence of the Home Manager
- Ensure care plans are implemented effectively to meet young people’s needs
- Contribute to shift planning and staff deployment
- Work in partnership with external professionals and agencies
- Deliver and support direct work with young people
- Lead and participate in MDT (multi-disciplinary) meetings
- Provide staff supervision in line with Ofsted standards
Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in residential childcare
- At least 12 months’ experience working with young people with challenging behaviour (including 6 months at senior level)
- Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience acting as an appropriate adult
- Minimum age requirement: 21 years
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
