Description

As the Design and Development engineer you will be tasked with the following;

• Lead the development and introduction of new products, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality assurance to optimise product development processes.
• Evaluate and refine manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate product testing and validation to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges during the product development lifecycle.
• Performing pertinent actions in SAP (Raising ECs, BOM Creation)
• Project ownership of all stages from conception through testing, verification and launch.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and reports related to NPI activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and manufacturing departments.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide progress updates and address concerns.

Profile

A successful Design and Development Engineer should have:

• Beng in Product Design, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• A background within a machining environment is highly desirable
• Track record of delivering engineering projects
• Analytical mindset, able to evaluate results, data and form clear conclusions from your findings
• 5 years of experience in use of CAD software's (Autodesk inventor)
• Demonstrable experience of working within a design and development role.
• Previous MRP system exposure (SAP is desirable)
