Description
As the Design and Development engineer you will be tasked with the following;
- Lead the development and introduction of new products, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality assurance to optimise product development processes.
- Evaluate and refine manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate product testing and validation to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges during the product development lifecycle.
- Performing pertinent actions in SAP (Raising ECs, BOM Creation)
- Project ownership of all stages from conception through testing, verification and launch.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and reports related to NPI activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and manufacturing departments.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide progress updates and address concerns.
Profile
A successful Design and Development Engineer should have:
- Beng in Product Design, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- A background within a machining environment is highly desirable
- Track record of delivering engineering projects
- Analytical mindset, able to evaluate results, data and form clear conclusions from your findings
- 5 years of experience in use of CAD software's (Autodesk inventor)
- Demonstrable experience of working within a design and development role.
- Previous MRP system exposure (SAP is desirable)
