A boutique main contractor delivering some of London’s most unique and design-led projects is looking to appoint a Design Manager for a landmark private members club development in the heart of Soho.
This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected contractor on a technically challenging £25m Design & Build scheme comprising the shell & core and high-end fit-out of a 7-storey private members club. The project is due for completion in Spring 2028
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the design process from early-stage structural works through to final fit-out and handover, working closely with the Project Director, consultants, subcontractors and client team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and coordinating all design information throughout the project lifecycle
- Reviewing drawings and specifications, raising RFIs and resolving technical queries
- Coordinating subcontractor design packages and ensuring timely information release
- Leading design workshops and supporting buildability reviews
- Managing design progress against programme requirements
- Liaising with consultants and client teams to secure approvals
- Supporting procurement through material and product research for bespoke finishes and specialist items
- Ensuring design information is accurate, compliant and commercially aligned
Suitable Candidates should have:
- Proven experience as a Design Manager with a main contractor
- Strong technical construction knowledge and understanding of D&B delivery
- Experience managing complex fit-out or high-specification projects
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Procore or similar platforms
