About the Role:
Cover People are currently recruiting for a Design Technology Teacher specialising in Resistant Materials/Woodwork and Graphics Design to join a supportive and well-resourced secondary school in Blackburn, Lancashire starting from September 2026 for a full term as a minimum.

This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers and experienced educators to make a positive impact in a long-term role, delivering engaging Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4. ECTs will benefit from a supportive mentoring programme to help complete induction requirements, while experienced teachers will have the opportunity to contribute to a thriving and collaborative department.

M1–M6 Teachers will be paid to scale from day one.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality Design Technology teaching in line with national curriculum standards
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Resistant Materials/Woodwork and Graphics Design across KS3 and KS4
• Monitor and assess pupil progress effectively
• Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
• Support the academic and personal development of all learners
• Ensure safe working practices within workshop and classroom environments
• Contribute positively to department planning and wider school initiatives

Requirements:
• QTS or equivalent UK teaching qualification
• Experience teaching KS3 & KS4 Design Technology
• Specialism in Resistant Materials/Woodwork and Graphics Design
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• A passion for teaching and pupil progress
• Right to work in the UK
