An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Design Technology Teacher to join a successful secondary school from September on a rolling basis, with scope for a permanent position.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design Technology Teacher to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a particular focus on Woodwork, Resistant Materials and Construction. The successful candidate will have the ability to motivate students of all abilities, fostering creativity, problem-solving skills and technical knowledge within a well-equipped department.
Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering high-quality Design Technology lessons.

Teaching Woodwork, Resistant Materials and Construction to secondary-aged students.

Assessing, monitoring and supporting student progress.

Maintaining a safe and productive workshop environment.

Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.

Supporting the wider life of the school community.

Candidate Requirements
The successful Design Technology Teacher will possess:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

A degree or relevant qualification in Design Technology, Engineering, Construction, Product Design or a related subject.

Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level.

Strong practical skills in Woodwork, Resistant Materials and Construction.

Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute positively to the school community.
