Development Engineer - Battery Module (Mechanical)

Working closely with cross‑functional teams, the Development Engineer - Battery Module (Mechanical) will support the development and scaling of battery cells and modules from early concept through to manufacturing and deployment, combining hands‑on engineering with mechanical design and testing activities.
 
The Development Engineer - Battery Module (Mechanical) will:
  • Support the scale‑up of laboratory cells to larger formats, including design, assembly, testing and validation.
  • Design and develop compression systems, prototypes, fixtures and jigs for cells and modules.
  • Define and implement thermal and gas management strategies at cell and module level.
  • Support quality improvement activities related to manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Contribute to the design and integration of cell‑to‑module electrical interfaces in collaboration with other teams.
  • Create and maintain CAD models and engineering drawings to support development and production.
 
The Development Engineer - Battery Module (Mechanical) will have:
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands‑on experience taking products from prototype through to production and deployment.
  • Experience designing parts and assemblies with a focus on manufacturability and assembly.
  • Strong experience using CAD software to create parts, assemblies and technical drawings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to defined timelines.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and translating technical concepts into practical solutions.
