Our client, a reputable independent family-run garage specialising in BMW and MINI vehicles, is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Vehicle Technician to join their highly regarded workshop in Southampton.

This Diagnostic Vehicle Technician position offers a genuine opportunity for skilled motor trade professionals to develop their career within a supportive environment dedicated to quality service and personal growth.

  • Monday to Friday work schedule, 08:30 – 17:00

Duties of the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician:
  • Conduct routine vehicle servicing and maintenance with accuracy
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle faults efficiently using diagnostic equipment
  • Perform complex repairs, including timing belt replacements and systems diagnostics
  • Use BMW ISTA diagnostics systems and Autologic tools effectively
  • Carry out vehicle inspections and test drives to assess performance
  • Complete service documentation accurately and comprehensively as a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician
  • Adhere to health and safety standards and company procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service with a professional approach
Requirements:
  • Minimum qualification of City and Guilds AVCE, NVQ level 3, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician, ideally with BMW ISTA knowledge
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Full UK driving licence and own comprehensive toolkit
  • Knowledge of modern vehicle systems, including hybrid/electric technology (training provided)
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capability
  • Effective communication skills
