Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Director of Operations to oversee and manage the operational performance, quality, and strategic growth of our care services.
This critical leadership role requires a passionate individual with a proven track record within the health and social care sector, strong commercial awareness, and a commitment to delivering outstanding person-centred care. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, optimise operational efficiency, and lead a culture of continuous improvement across multiple services.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Operations
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with organisational objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple care services to ensure high-quality care delivery, operational efficiency, and effective resource management.
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to quality, occupancy, financial performance, compliance, and service user satisfaction.
- Lead and support senior management teams through effective leadership, accountability, and performance oversight.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all services consistently meet or exceed regulatory requirements, including CQC standards and internal quality expectations.
- Develop and maintain effective quality assurance, clinical governance, and risk management frameworks.
- Lead preparation for regulatory inspections and support continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture of safety, dignity, compassion, and clinical excellence across all services.
Financial Management & Growth
- Manage operational budgets effectively and support sustainable financial performance.
- Work collaboratively with finance teams to monitor expenditure, improve profitability, and maximise operational performance.
- Identify opportunities for business growth, service development, and operational expansion.
- Use financial and operational data to support strategic decision-making.
People Management & Culture
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing working environment.
- Support workforce planning, recruitment, retention, training, and staff development initiatives.
- Ensure effective performance management processes and compliance with employment legislation and HR policies.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5–7 years’ senior operational leadership experience within health or social care settings.
- Experience managing multiple services/sites and leading large multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of care legislation, regulatory frameworks, and quality standards.
- Proven experience managing budgets and delivering operational and commercial success.
- Relevant professional qualification in Nursing, Social Work, Health & Social Care Management, or a related field.
