Are you an ambitious and inspirational Director of Science ready to lead a successful department and drive exceptional outcomes? A high-performing and values-led secondary school in Hounslow is seeking an outstanding Director of Science to join its leadership team from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a thriving Science department with strong attainment, excellent student engagement and a well-established curriculum across KS3, KS4 and KS5. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping teaching and learning, developing staff and ensuring every student achieves their full potential.
The Role
As Director of Science, you will:
• Provide strategic leadership across the Science department
• Lead curriculum development from KS3 to KS5
• Drive high standards of teaching, learning and achievement
• Monitor progress and use data to improve outcomes
• Coach, mentor and develop colleagues
• Promote STEM pathways and a love of Science
• Contribute to wider school leadership and improvement initiatives
What Were Looking For
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• A degree in Chemistry, Physics or a related Science subject
• Strong classroom practitioner with leadership experience
• Proven track record of raising attainment and improving outcomes
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
• Commitment to high expectations, inclusion and educational excellence

Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary applies to candidates with substantial teaching experience.
