Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Dock Operative to support day-to-day Service Yard and Back of House operations, working closely with the on-site facilities team and following instructions from the Duty Manager.

Working Pattern: Monday - Sunday irregular shifts, averaging 37.5 hours per week, working 5 shifts over 7 days

  • Early shift: 06:00-14:00
  • Mid shift: 08:00-16:00
  • Late shift: 12:00-20:00

Job Overview

This role plays a key part in supporting efficient Service Yard and Back of House operations, ensuring that retailer deliveries, collections and final mile activities are carried out safely, accurately and on time. The Dock Operative contributes to the smooth running of site logistics by maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness and compliance for all stakeholders.

Working in a physically demanding environment, the Dock Operative will collaborate closely with colleagues and on-site teams, following site procedures and Health & Safety requirements at all times. The role requires clear communication, attention to detail and a flexible approach to supporting operational needs across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Service Yard operations, including the accurate collection of vehicle movement data and control of vehicle dwell time
  • Assist with Back of House operations, including the delivery and receipt of retailer goods
  • Carry out final mile deliveries and support the storage of tenant materials
  • Maintain a safe, secure, clean and fair working environment for all team members
  • Process paperwork and operate IT systems as required, including Microsoft packages
  • Ensure compliance with company, site and Health & Safety policies and agreed SLA targets
  • Communicate accurately and promptly with the Team Leader or Supervisor when required
  • Operate Mechanical Handling Equipment where trained and undertake any reasonable duties as required

Person Specification

  • Good levels of spoken and written communication
  • Ability to use Microsoft packages and other IT systems
  • Understanding of operational requirements and relevant regulations
  • Strong awareness of safety, risk and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Capability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Willingness to undertake training to support role requirements and skill development
