About the Role:
NRL is recruiting for a Document Controller to support a major client on a 12-month contract based in Cumbria. This role will play a key part in ensuring project documentation is effectively managed, controlled, and maintained across engineering and construction activities within a regulated environment.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing and maintaining project documentation in line with company and client requirements
  • Ensuring all documents are correctly recorded, distributed, and version-controlled
  • Operating and maintaining document workflows within CEMAR and other project systems
  • Supporting the submission, review, and approval process for engineering and commercial documentation
  • Coordinating with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure timely document flow
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure documentation meets required standards
  • Maintaining accurate document registers and audit trails
  • Supporting project teams by providing access to up-to-date and controlled information
  • Assisting with document-related reporting and status updates
  • Supporting compliance with project procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of document control processes and systems
  • Building strong working relationships with project stakeholders to support efficient delivery
What You’ll Bring:
To succeed in this position, you will demonstrate strong organisational skills, a high level of attention to detail, and experience working within structured project environments—ideally within engineering, construction, or nuclear sectors.
 
You will also have:
  • Proven experience working as a Document Controller in a project-based environment
  • Hands-on experience with CEMAR (essential)
  • Strong understanding of document control procedures and information management standards
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy under pressure
  • Strong IT skills and experience using digital document management systems
