Overview

A Tier 1 main contractor is seeking an experienced Document Controller to join their team on a major construction project in London. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a highly respected contractor delivering large-scale commercial and infrastructure projects across the capital.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project documentation, maintaining information accuracy, and ensuring smooth communication across project teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all project documentation within the Common Data Environment (CDE)
• Ensure documents are uploaded, distributed, and archived in line with project procedures
• Administer and manage Asite workflows, transmittals, approvals, and reporting
• Maintain accurate document registers and tracking logs
• Coordinate drawings, technical submissions, RFIs, and project correspondence
• Support project teams with document control processes and system training where required
• Ensure compliance with company standards and ISO 19650 processes
• Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and client teams to ensure timely information flow
• Monitor document revisions and maintain version control across all project information

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Document Controller within the construction industry
• Strong Asite experience is essential
• Experience working for a main contractor or on large construction projects
• Good understanding of Common Data Environments (CDEs) and document control procedures
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards is advantageous
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment and manage multiple priorities
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office
