Domestic Gas Engineer

GetFix Ltd is looking for a skilled Domestic Gas Engineer to join our growing maintenance team. This role involves planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault-finding and compliance work across commercial heating systems, primarily within social housing and local authority properties.
We are looking for someone who can work independently, maintain high technical standards, and communicate professionally with residents, clients and contract teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on commercial heating systems
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs, including basic electrical fault-finding
- Complete statutory compliance work and issue gas safety documentation
- Power flush heating systems and replace defective pumps, valves, radiators and associated components
- Maintain accurate job records and support quotations from site surveys
- Liaise with residents, clients and local authority representatives
- Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota
Essential Requirements
- Domestic ACS Gas qualification
- Experience working on commercial heating systems
- Strong understanding of compliance and gas safety requirements
- Ability to pass a DBS check
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience within social housing or local authority environments
- BigChange or JobWatch experience
- Unvented Hot Water certification
- Water Regulations qualification
- Asbestos Awareness training
- Experience with HIUs, solar thermal or other renewable systems
What we're looking for
A reliable and professional engineer with a proactive attitude, strong fault-finding ability, and a customer-focused approach. You should be comfortable managing your own workload while working as part of a wider operations team. This is a mobile role which requires daily travel. You will be required to work call out shifts as per our call out rota.
