Duct Fitter

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Duct Fitter to join a team on a large commercial construction project. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established Mechanical contractor delivering a high-profile development.

The successful candidate will have experience installing a variety of ductwork systems within commercial environments and be able to work efficiently from technical drawings while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of rectangular, circular, and spiral ductwork systems
• Reading and interpreting HVAC and mechanical drawings
• Installing ductwork supports, brackets, and associated containment
• Measuring, marking out, and fitting ductwork to specification
• Working alongside mechanical and M&E teams to ensure programme deadlines are achieved
• Carrying out modifications and remedial works where required
• Ensuring all installations are completed in line with industry standards and project specifications
• Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to site health and safety procedures

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Duct Fitter on commercial construction projects
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation plans
• Experience installing galvanised, rectangular, circular, and spiral ductwork systems
• Strong understanding of HVAC installation practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and quality standards

Essential Qualifications

• Valid CSCS Skill Card (Blue or Gold preferred)
• Relevant NVQ or recognised trade qualification in Ductwork Installation
• Own tools and PPE

Desirable Qualifications

• IPAF
• PASMA
• SSSTS / SMSTS (for supervisory candidates)
• First Aid at Work
