Reception Teaching Assistant
Location: Longsight, Manchester (M12)
Hours: Full Time, Monday-Friday
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £465-565 p/week

A welcoming and nurturing Primary School in Longsight (M12) is seeking an enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. This is an exciting opportunity to support children at the beginning of their educational journey, helping to build confidence, independence and a love for learning.

Working closely with the class teacher, you will help deliver engaging activities, support learning through play and provide pastoral support to pupils within a busy and rewarding Reception classroom.

• Supporting pupils in the Reception classroom with daily learning activities
• Assisting with phonics, communication and early development tasks
• Helping to create a stimulating and engaging Early Years environment
• Supporting small group and individual learning activities
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and social development
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and parents where required

• Has experience working with children in Early Years or primary education
• Is patient, caring and enthusiastic
• Understands the importance of learning through play
• Can build strong relationships with young children
• Works well as part of a team
