£25.00–£35.00 per hour PAYE + Paid Planning & Preparation Time

Equivalent to approximately £30.00–£42.00 per hour

New Chapter Tuition is recruiting experienced Tutors and Qualified Teachers to provide personalised 1:1 tuition and educational support for children and young people across South East London.

This rewarding role involves supporting learners who are unable to access full-time education due to emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), SEMH needs, anxiety, school exclusion, SEND, or other barriers to learning.

Many of the learners we support require a patient, nurturing, and relationship-led approach to help them rebuild confidence, re-engage with education, and achieve positive outcomes.

The Role

• Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition and intervention sessions

• Support engagement, emotional wellbeing, and academic progress

• Deliver English and Maths tuition where appropriate

• Adapt learning to individual needs, interests, and learning styles

• Build positive and trusting relationships with learners

• Support confidence, resilience, and re-engagement with education

• Complete session reports and progress updates

• Work collaboratively with families, schools, Local Authorities, and other professionals

• Dyslexia

• Anxiety and mental health needs

What We're Looking For

✔ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) and/or substantial tutoring experience

✔ Experience supporting learners with EBSA, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, or SEND

✔ Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

✔ Confidence delivering personalised 1:1 support

✔ Experience delivering English and Maths tuition desirable

✔ Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred) or willingness to obtain one

✔ Right to work in the UK
