Job Title: Electrical/Avionics Design Engineer
Location: Frimley, UK, Hybrid working available 3 days in office.
Employment Type: Contract initially a 12-month period.
Working time: Mon -Friday only
Package: Competitive hourly Rate, Inside IR35 (umbrella)
This role will require occasional national and/or international travel to visit teammates, customers and subcontractors.

We are recruiting an experienced Part 21 Electrical / Avionics Engineer to support our client's expanding Boeing EASA modification activities. Working on complex and innovative aircraft programmes, you will be part of a highly regarded engineering team delivering certification solutions for airline customers around the world.
In this role, you will support the certification of large aircraft modifications, demonstrating compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and the processes defined within the company's Design Organisation Handbook (DOH). Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Electrical / Avionics Engineering Manager and working with the global engineering services team, across multiple time-zones to identify requirements and their associated solutions for active and upcoming projects
- Lead and contribute to design activities to ensure compliance with design requirements, and address certification and design/integration issues relating to electrical /avionic equipment and systems changes as part of large aircraft modifications
- Lead certification activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirement, including on-wing test witnessing
- Compile and check engineering documentation and instructions for continued airworthiness including:
- Wiring diagrams
- Wire routing installation drawings, and harness fabrication drawings
- Service Bulletins / accomplishment instructions
- Aircraft and component manual ICA supplements including wiring diagram manuals, system schematic manuals and EWIS assessments
- Compile, and check certification documents to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical systems related airworthiness requirements including:
- Electrical load analysis documents
- Test plans and reports
- Compliance Statements
- System Safety, Equipment Qualification and EWIS documents
- Certification Programmes
- Act as the representative during customer meetings such as ITCM, PDR, CDR and FAI in support of active and upcoming projects. Provide additional on-site support to assist the customers during the embodiment phase of the project.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor's Degree within Electrical / Avionics or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Previous experience as an EASA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) is advantageous
- Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry specifically working with an EASA Part 21J Design Organization (or equivalent) is essential
- Able to demonstrate comprehensive working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO, CS-25, JAR-25 and FAR-25 requirements (relevant to the electrical/avionics discipline)
- Knowledge and experience of aircraft interior and / or avionic modifications
- Experience of large and complex aircraft modification projects (or similar scope projects within the aviation industry)
- Current or recent appointment as an EASA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) with terms of approval relevant to the electrical, avionics and / or software disciplines is advantageous
- A high level of attention to detail and professional integrity
- Ability to efficiently and effectively work on multiple programmes with varying level of requirements
- Ability to prioritise workloads and show flexibility to changing situations / demands
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers to embody the core values of the business: Honesty, Integrity and Transparency
- Willing and able to help develop, mentor and coach less experienced staff
- Experience navigating OEM data systems for specifications and standards
