Electrical Contracts Manager

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to join a growing and reputable electrical contractor based in Banstead, Surrey. This role offers the chance to oversee a portfolio of electrical installation, maintenance, refurbishment, and compliance projects across residential, commercial, and public sector environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple contracts, leading operational teams, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage electrical contracts from pre-start through to completion and handover.
- Oversee electrical installation, testing, maintenance, refurbishment, and upgrade projects.
- Ensure compliance with current electrical regulations, including BS 7671, Building Regulations, and Health & Safety legislation.
- Lead and coordinate site managers, supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project performance, budgets, valuations, costs, and profitability.
- Conduct regular site visits, quality inspections, and compliance audits.
- Produce project reports, programmes, and handover documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Resolve operational and technical issues to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support business growth through effective contract management and client retention.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the electrical contracting industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical installations, testing, maintenance, and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing projects within residential, commercial, education, healthcare, or public sector environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and project profitability.
- Good IT, planning, and organisational skills.
Desirable
- SMSTS, SSSTS, IOSH, or NEBOSH qualifications.
- City & Guilds Electrical Qualifications and/or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Experience managing NICEIC-approved contracts.
- Knowledge of renewable energy, EV charging, or energy efficiency projects.
