Electrical Design Engineer

NES Fircroft are partnering with our major Engineering & Services client to provide an Electrical Design Engineer for a major Nuclear project. Long-term project with potential for 3+ years work. Mon-Fri minimum 37hrs per week over 4.5 days.

Hybrid working available 3 days in Warrington office per week.

Overview of the Senior Control Systems Design Engineer:
To work within the end client's design team delivering, supporting others delivering and checking electrical design packages to meet safety, functional and business needs.
  
Essential:
  • Academic Qualification: Minimum - HNC
  • Professional Qualification: Minimum - Incorporated Engineer
  • Proven experience successfully delivering as an Electrical Design Engineer on external multidiscipline projects, from concept design through to handover, with a working knowledge of the appropriate Engineering Standards governing the following works:
    • Electrical Supply Infrastructure: Small power, lighting and earthing
  • Experience Generating: 
    • Small power cable calculations, both by hand and using Trimble ProDesign (Amtech).
    • Lighting calculations, both by hand and using DIALux evo.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey information to other team members/disciplines
  • Providing support to Construction
  • Providing support to Commissioning
  • Willingness to support early career engineers
Desirable:
  • Engineering Standards governing the following works:
    • Electrical Supply Infrastructure: Small power, lighting and earthing 
    • Process Instrumentation
    • Radiometric & Special Instruments
  • Valid SC clearance would be beneficial, however, potential for this to be obtained upon offer of contract.
