Electrical Design Engineer – Havant – up to £60,000 dependent on experience

We are recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer for a well-established manufacturing business based in Havant.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a global leader in its sector and a company we know well, having previously recruited successfully into the team, including the manager this role reports to.

The role is open to both graduate-level engineers looking to build their career and more experienced electrical design engineers seeking their next challenge within a specialist engineering and manufacturing environment.

The Role

As Electrical Design Engineer, you will:

• Support the design and development of electrical and electronic systems for a range of products
• Develop electrical circuits across AC and DC systems
• Assist with fault-finding and technical problem solving
• Support the commissioning and maintenance of electric motors, switching circuits and motor controllers
• Provide technical support and training to clients and end users where required
• Contribute to design reviews and wider engineering projects

The Person

To be successful in this role of Electrical Design Engineer, you will ideally have:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or previous experience in a similar design engineering role
• An interest in electrical design, development and problem solving
• Experience or knowledge of electrical circuit design across AC and DC systems
• Exposure to PLC programming, ideally Siemens PLCs, would be advantageous
• Experience or knowledge of electric motors, switching circuits and motor controllers would be beneficial
• Experience of electro-mechanical assemblies would be an advantage
• Candidates from a range of engineering and manufacturing backgrounds will be considered.
