We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity within a highly technical industrial and engineering environment based in Oxfordshire.

This role offers the chance to work on complex electrical systems, plant upgrades, maintenance projects, and engineering improvements within a large-scale operational facility.







The Role

The successful candidate will provide electrical engineering support across a range of operational and project activities. You will be involved in electrical design support, fault investigation, commissioning, maintenance planning, and technical problem solving within a safety-critical environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Support electrical engineering and maintenance activities across site
  • Provide technical expertise for electrical systems and infrastructure
  • Assist with design reviews, modifications, and upgrades
  • Carry out fault finding and root cause analysis on electrical equipment
  • Support commissioning and testing activities
  • Review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with electrical standards, regulations, and safe systems of work
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary engineering teams and contractors
  • Contribute to project delivery and operational reliability improvements


Requirements

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience within industrial, manufacturing, process, or engineering environments
  • Strong understanding of electrical power distribution and control systems
  • Experience with industrial plant equipment and maintenance practices
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical regulations and safety standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills


Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within highly regulated or safety-critical environments
  • HV/LV systems experience
  • PLC, instrumentation, or control systems knowledge
  • Commissioning or project engineering experience
  • Previous experience on large industrial or research facilities
