We are recruiting experienced Electrical Engineers to join the engineering team at our high‑volume manufacturing facility in Howden. This is a great opportunity to work within a fast‑paced, automated production environment, playing a key role in maintaining essential plant equipment and driving continuous improvement across the site.

The role operates on a rotating shift pattern covering mornings and afternoons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to equipment breakdowns, minimising downtime and impact on production.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults, including working with PLC‑controlled machinery.
  • Carry out electrical repairs, modifications, and installations in line with current regulations and site standards.
  • Support mechanical fault‑finding activities where required, working closely with Mechanical Engineers.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on repeat failures and implement long‑term corrective solutions.
  • Identify and deliver improvements to equipment reliability, performance, safety, and efficiency.
  • Record all maintenance activity accurately using the CMMS (Shire system).
  • Maintain a proactive, flexible approach to support production demands and business objectives.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and internal policies as outlined within the Integrated Management System (IMS).

Shift Pattern (Rotating Weekly)

  • Week 1: 6:00am – 2:30pm | Monday to Friday
  • Week 2: 10:00am – 6:30pm | Monday to Friday

About You

Essential

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (current).
  • Previous experience in an electrical maintenance role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault‑finding skills with PLC‑controlled equipment.
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure within a production‑critical environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive attitude with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Desirable

  • Experience within FMCG, woodworking, or other high‑volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working with automated production lines.
