We’re working with a well-established, family-run bakery business looking for an experienced Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Manager to take ownership of site engineering and drive reliability, performance, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities in your new role as an Electrical Maintenance Manager
As Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all machinery and systems run safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This is a hands-on leadership role within a busy food production environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance engineers
- Manage and continuously improve the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule
- Respond to breakdowns and restore production quickly
- Oversee maintenance across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic & refrigeration systems
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food production standards
- Manage budgets, parts procurement, and contractor activity on site
- Drive continuous improvement, reducing downtime and improving efficiency
- Work closely with site leadership to enhance overall operational performance
Your personality, experience and qualifications
You’ll be a proactive, hands-on engineering leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys solving complex problems.
You will have:
- Experience in a similar maintenance leadership role within food production, FMCG, or manufacturing
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Proven ability to lead teams and deliver results under pressure
- Knowledge of engineering best practices, compliance, and site standards
- Experience managing contractors, budgets, and procurement
- 18th Edition (BS 7671) certification – essential
- Multi-skilled (electrical & mechanical) background
