Electrical Project Engineer - Water AMP8

 

Location: Brighton (South East England – multi-site travel required)

 

Our client, a leading Tier 1 Contractor, is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join their Environment division. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure projects across the South East, primarily within the water sector, including sewage and clean water schemes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering activities from concept through to completion
  • Deliver Non-Infrastructure (Non-Infra) M&E projects within the water sector
  • Manage the design process and liaise with clients, designers, and internal teams
  • Conduct early-stage site investigations and coordinate with key stakeholders
  • Prepare and review health & safety documentation including RAMS and project plans
  • Procure materials and manage supplier and subcontractor relationships
  • Attend and oversee factory acceptance testing (FAT), site testing, commissioning, and client training
  • Participate in design reviews and hazard studies to optimise project outcomes
  • Monitor project budgets, assist with cost reviews, and manage variations
  • Ensure quality and compliance through Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Develop and maintain project programmes and documentation, including as-built drawings and O&M manuals
  • Champion a strong health & safety culture across all activities
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation while maintaining compliance with industry standards

 

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Commercial and contractual awareness
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised, proactive, and solutions-focused
  • Resilient, flexible, and able to influence at all levels
  • A collaborative team player with a “can-do” attitude

Desirable:

  • Experience within the water industry or Non-Infra projects
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, ATEX, and DSEAR

Essential Qualifications

  • Electrical ONC / HNC / BEng (or equivalent NVQ qualification)
  • BS7671 (18th Edition)
  • Full UK Driving Licence

 

Desirable Qualifications

  • CSCS / ECS Card
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid at Work
  • City & Guilds Authorised Person
