Avolon are working with a leading electrical & mechanical engineering contractor, who deliver a wide range of services across UK industry, retail, commercial, educational, healthcare, residential and industrial sectors. Projects are overseen by highly experienced teams managing all aspects of delivery, from design to installation and commissioning.
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, leading, and delivering electrical projects from inception through completion. You will liaise closely with clients, sub-contractors and your site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, to cost, and with high quality and safety standards.
Because the operations are nationwide, this role requires travel. A valid driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all stages of electrical projects: pre-contract, mobilisation, execution and close-out.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, supply chain (sub-contractors, suppliers), and internal teams.
- Monitor project performance: cost control, resource allocation, quality, safety, environmental compliance.
- Sit in client meetings, conduct site visits, and act as main point of contact.
- Manage change orders, unforeseen site issues, and risk mitigation.
- Prepare reports, forecasts, and ensure accurate documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager (or in similar role) in commercial / industrial / infrastructure sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, installation practices, regulations and standards.
- Strong organisational skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent communication (verbal & written), leadership, stakeholder management.
- Strong commercial acumen – cost control, budget management.
- Health & Safety awareness and relevant qualifications (e.g. CSCS, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel frequently.
