Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager with an electrical bias to join the delivery team for a major, high‑profile scheme in central Manchester. This role offers the chance to work on a prestigious project while contributing to some of the most significant engineering schemes in the country.

We are seeking a confident, client‑facing leader who can successfully manage PCSA, pre‑construction and delivery phases, while driving performance, collaboration and excellence across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Take full responsibility for the operational delivery of a portfolio of engineering projects.
  • Coordinate offsite manufacturing activities to ensure programme, quality and commercial targets are achieved.
  • Lead teams in line with company values, fostering a high‑performance, collaborative culture.

Health & Safety

  • Provide visible, proactive Health & Safety leadership across all project activities.
  • Embed a strong “safety first” culture within all teams and workstreams.

Work Winning & Pre‑Commencement

  • Support bid and work‑winning activities by contributing to commercially robust and deliverable solutions.
  • Lead pre‑commencement activities, ensuring designs are coordinated, manufacturable and accurately programmed.
  • Ensure all design information is complete, accurate and suitable for manufacturing and installation.

Risk, Commercial & Financial Control

  • Work closely with Senior Project Managers to identify, manage and mitigate project risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate monthly forecasts and ensure strong cost, programme and commercial governance.
  • Lead monthly project reviews, providing senior leadership with clear visibility of performance and financial status.
  • Contribute to business planning and budgeting to support agreed profit and performance targets.

Supply Chain & Quality

  • Manage specialist subcontractors and suppliers effectively.
  • Ensure all manufacturing and installation activities meet internal standards, client specifications and statutory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, products and quality outcomes.

Customer Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships.
  • Ensure project objectives are clearly defined and consistently delivered, achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.

Project Completion

  • Oversee full project close‑out, ensuring alignment with quality, commercial and programme requirements.
  • Manage financial completion and lead lessons‑learned activities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading multi‑project engineering or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with a track record of improving profitability.
  • Experience in offsite manufacturing or engineered solutions (desirable).
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high‑performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety, compliance and risk management.
  • Confident stakeholder manager, able to work effectively with clients, suppliers and senior leaders.
