An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shift Engineer to join a leading facilities management provider working across a prestigious commercial campus in Central London.

This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong building services background who enjoys working within a fast-paced environment, supporting the day-to-day operation of high-profile commercial buildings.

The Role

As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical and electrical building services systems, ensuring all plant and equipment remain fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across building services systems
  • Fault find and diagnose issues on mechanical and electrical plant
  • Complete PPM tasks in line with statutory and contractual requirements
  • Ensure all maintenance records are updated accurately through CAFM systems
  • Escort and supervise specialist subcontractors on site
  • Support plant shutdowns, inspections, and engineering projects
  • Assist with health & safety compliance and risk assessments
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within plant rooms and engineering areas
  • Support wider engineering teams across the campus when required
  • Participate in the on-call rota and respond to emergency call-outs when necessary

Requirements

Previous experience within Facilities Management or Building Services

Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems

Experience carrying out PPMs and reactive maintenance

Knowledge of health & safety procedures and permit systems

Good communication and organisational skills

Experience using CAFM or maintenance management systems

Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent)
