Electrical Testing Lead

At Dornan we are currently recruiting for an electrical testing lead to work on a data centre project in the Netherlands. The role will require on site presence, experience testing on live data centre projects, and experience.

Your day to day will include:

• Plan, coordinate, and lead electrical testing and commissioning activities across LV/MV systems (switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs, busbar), ensuring alignment with the master commissioning programme.
• Manage and direct testing teams and subcontractors, issuing daily work plans, method statements, and permits while maintaining high safety and quality standards on site.
• Review and execute test procedures, witnessing FAT/SAT activities, interpreting results, resolving non‑conformances, and ensuring systems are energised safely and sequentially.
• Interface daily with client, GC, CSA, and other MEP disciplines, leading commissioning meetings, reporting progress, and supporting integrated systems testing (IST).
• Oversee commissioning documentation and handover, including redlining drawings, compiling test records, O&M inputs, and supporting final client acceptance.

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience in electrical testing and commissioning on large‑scale data centre projects, with demonstrable leadership responsibility across LV/MV power systems, critical environments, and phased energisation.
• Time‑served Electrical qualification (Apprenticeship or equivalent) with relevant trade papers, supported by recognised commissioning or testing certifications and a strong technical understanding of electrical standards and codes.
• In‑depth technical competence in LV/MV systems, including switchgear, UPS, generators, ATS, busbar, protection studies, and functional performance testing within mission‑critical facilities.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills, with a track record of managing testing teams and subcontractors, enforcing safe systems of work, and driving programme and quality outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation capability, experienced in client‑facing commissioning activities, method statements, test packs, snag management, and final system handover.
