Electro-Mechanical Winder
Location: Sunbury-on-Thames
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday-Friday, standard day shift (specific banding to be confirmed)

We are currently seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join a globally recognised engineering business, supporting the design and manufacture of high-performance electrical components used in critical sectors including medical, defence, and semiconductor industries.
 
The Electro Mechanical Assembler role involves winding, assembling, inspecting and testing electro-mechanical components including rotors, stators, armatures and related assemblies. This is a hands-on production role suited to someone with strong manual dexterity, attention to detail and experience working from technical drawings or work instructions.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Hand-wind and machine-wind coils for stators, rotors, and armatures
  • Assemble and install components to engineering specifications
  • Perform electrical and mechanical tests (e.g., hi-pot, core loss, balance checks)
  • Use soldering equipment for thru-hole, SMD, and hard soldering tasks
  • Inspect parts, raise quality issues, and complete all production documentation
  • Maintain tooling, follow 5S and H&S standards, and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Operate hand tools and small machinery for component assembly
 
About You:
  • Prior experience in electro-mechanical winding (or similar precision assembly work)
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and follow SOPs
  • Competent soldering skills on small components
  • Detail-oriented with strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and fault-finding
  • Comfortable working to production targets in a team environment
  • IT literate and able to complete electronic documentation and reports
