Freelance Engineering Manager / Senior Engineer
Groundworks, S278 & Structures Packages
Location: Heathrow to High Wycombe Corridor

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Engineering Manager / Senior Engineer to support a busy groundworks/structures subcontractor operating across multiple live projects between Heathrow and High Wycombe.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for consistent freelance work on technically challenging schemes within a well-established delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage engineering activities across multiple sites
• Ensure accurate setting out, QA, and compliance with specifications
• Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and project management
• Review drawings, manage technical queries (RFIs), and resolve issues on site
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality
• Support programme delivery and ensure works are completed to schedule

Requirements:

• Proven experience in groundworks, earthworks, S278 works and structures packages. 
• Strong setting out and engineering management capability
• Ability to manage multiple sites/projects simultaneously
• Proficient with surveying equipment and engineering software
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid CSCS card (and relevant tickets preferred)
