Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a leading food manufacturing business in Leeds to recruit an Engineering Stores Person. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, growing operation where you’ll play a key role in supporting engineering and production teams.

Engineering Stores Person
Location: Leeds (Dartmouth Way)
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (40 hours)
Reporting to: Head of Projects & Engineering / Assistant Engineering Manager

The Role

As Engineering Stores Person, you will provide front-line support to manufacturing operations by ensuring the effective supply and management of engineering spares and change parts. You’ll be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy, coordinating purchasing, and supporting engineering activities to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain stock levels of engineering parts and materials
  • Raise and manage purchase orders via the maintenance management system (MMS)
  • Receive, check, and record deliveries for the engineering department
  • Maintain accurate engineering records and spreadsheets
  • Liaise with suppliers, internal departments, and external organisations
  • Manage site ordering, including direct-to-site deliveries
  • Carry out daily and rolling stock inventory checks
  • Coordinate service visits and support contractor management (permits to work, compliance)
  • Produce reports on budget, purchasing, and stock data
  • Work closely with finance to process payments
  • Manage asset control for on-site and off-site machinery
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure best pricing and availability
  • Support KPI reporting and performance tracking
  • Ensure legislative documentation is up to date
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Support contractor sign-in processes and permit systems
  • Maintain brand integrity and site standards at all times

  • Stock accuracy and inventory control
  • Budget management
  • PI (Perpetual Inventory) listings
  • Reduction of excess and aged stock

About You

  • Previous experience in a stores, inventory, or engineering support role (ideally within manufacturing or food production)
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Experience with stock control systems or MMS (preferred)
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise across departments and suppliers
  • Confident using spreadsheets and reporting tools
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
