Pay: £147 - £247 per day (dependent on experience and paid via PAYE or Umbrella)

Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner for the right candidate)

Contract: Full-Time, TEMP TO PERM (you will transfer of to a permanent contract with school)

Reeson Education is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist secondary SEMH school in the SK6 area to recruit an outstanding English Teacher for a full-time, temp to perm position. This English Teacher role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people who require additional support to engage successfully with education.

The school supports secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside additional special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, trauma-related needs, communication difficulties and behavioural challenges. This English Teacher position would suit an experienced English Teacher or a passionate English Teacher looking to transition into a specialist setting where relationships, resilience and personalised learning are at the heart of everything they do.

The English Teacher will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
    * Differentiate learning to meet a wide range of needs and abilities
    * Build strong, positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to education
    * Support literacy development, communication skills and academic progress
    * Promote emotional regulation, resilience and self-confidence through learning
    * Work closely with support staff, pastoral teams and senior leaders
    * Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform planning
    * Create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
    * Support pupils to achieve qualifications and positive destinations beyond school

English Teacher - The Role

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated English lessons that inspire pupils to achieve both academically and personally. The successful English Teacher will create a nurturing and structured learning environment that promotes confidence, emotional development and positive outcomes.

English Teacher - Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential or the equivalent
    * Previous experience as an English Teacher within UK schools
    * Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
    * Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs is desirable
    * Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
    * Resilient, adaptable and committed to supporting vulnerable learners
    * Strong communication and teamwork skills
    * A genuine passion for making a difference to young people's lives
