SEN English Teacher - Enfield

Start: September
Type: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential Permanent

We are working with a highly supportive SEN school in Enfield that is seeking a committed and adaptable English Teacher to join their team from September, teaching KS3-KS4.

This is a rewarding opportunity to teach English in a specialist environment where learning is personalised, progress is individual, and success is measured in confidence, engagement, and achievement as well as academics.

You will be joining a collaborative and experienced staff team who are passionate about removing barriers to learning and supporting every young person to reach their potential.

The Role

  • Teaching English to KS3 and KS4 pupils with a range of SEN needs
  • Planning and delivering accessible, engaging lessons tailored to individual learning levels
  • Supporting students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning needs
  • Creating a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment
  • Differentiating work to ensure all learners can access and progress
  • Working closely with TAs, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
  • Contributing to EHCP targets and tracking pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs
  • Calm, consistent classroom presence with strong behaviour management
  • Creative and flexible approach to lesson planning and delivery
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

SEN experience is welcome but not essential. The school is open to mainstream teachers who are looking to transition into specialist education.

The School

  • All-through SEN provision supporting pupils aged 4-18
  • KS3-KS4 English delivered within a well-supported secondary department
  • Strong leadership team with a clear inclusive vision
  • Excellent staff-to-pupil ratios and well-resourced classrooms
  • Ongoing CPD and SEN-specific training provided
  • Supportive, collaborative working culture
  • Based in Enfield with good transport links

Why This Role

This is a school where progress is measured in meaningful steps and every achievement matters.

You will have the time, structure, and support to teach in a way that meets the needs of your learners, while being part of a team that values relationships, consistency, and wellbeing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an English teacher looking to move into SEN or continue developing within a specialist setting.
