Position: Environment Health & Safety Coordinator

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Location: Storrington (must have your own transport due to location)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5pm

We’re currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Coordinator to play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe, sustainable, and compliant workplace. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real, day-to-day impact supporting the highest standards across people, processes, and products.

Working closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and senior management, you’ll help drive a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement across the organisation. You will succeed in this role if you are detail-oriented, forward-thinking, and genuinely committed to health, safety, and environmental standards.

EHS Duties:

  • Create, update, and enforce Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures
  • Carry out regular safety inspections, audits, and risk evaluations
  • Assist with and review investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses
  • Interpret data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Oversee environmental compliance, including waste control and energy usage
  • Provide practical EH&S advice, guidance, and training to staff across the organisation
  • Ensure all records and documentation are accurately maintained and audit-ready
  • Prepare reports to support internal reviews and meet regulatory requirements
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety, sustainability, and operational performance

EHS Requirements:

  • A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline
  • IOSH, NEBOSH, or an equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification
  • At least 3 years’ experience within an EH&S or industrial safety environment (manufacturing experience preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting tools such as PivotTables
  • Strong capability in analysing data and producing clear, actionable reports
  • Experience using EH&S systems and compliance management software
  • Good understanding of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and relevant UK health, safety, and environmental legislation
  • Confident in conducting risk assessments and leading audits
