JOB OPPORTUNITY: Estimator – High-End Refurbishment & Fit-Out
Promoter: Churchillfield (On behalf of a leading UK Refurbishment Specialist) Location: Clacton-on-Sea, Essex (Project scope: UK-wide)

About the Opportunity Churchillfield is currently representing one of the UK’s most respected specialist contractors in the refurbishment and fit-out sector. Renowned for their "can-do" attitude and a stellar reputation for delivering award-winning projects, our client works with prestigious brands—from luxury boutique hotels and flagship cinemas to high-stakes casinos and complex educational facilities.
Due to a period of sustained growth and a robust project pipeline for 2026/27, we are seeking a commercially astute Estimator to join their established pre-construction team.
The Role This is not a "behind a desk only" role. As an Estimator for this specialist contractor, you will be the commercial engine behind a diverse range of tenders. You will be responsible for transforming complex client briefs into competitive, accurate, and achievable project bids.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive Tendering: Prepare and manage prime cost estimates for high-spec projects across the Hospitality and Leisure sectors.
  • Supply Chain Management: Negotiate with and manage an elite sub-contractor network to ensure value and quality.
  • Site Evaluation: Conduct site visits across the UK to assess logistical constraints and project requirements.
  • Value Engineering: Work proactively to identify cost-saving opportunities and innovative solutions that provide a competitive edge.
  • Collaborative Handover: Liaise closely with the Operations and Business Development teams to ensure successful project mobilization.
Who You Are
  • Proven Track Record: You possess solid experience in construction estimating, specifically within the fit-out or refurbishment sectors.
  • Detail-Oriented: You have the ability to interpret intricate architectural drawings and identify both risks and opportunities within a tender.
  • Client-Facing Professionalism: You are a strong communicator, comfortable liaising with high-profile clients and stakeholders.
  • Analytical: Proficient in modern estimating software and advanced Excel.
