As an Estimator, you will be the commercial lead during the pre-contract stage, preparing accurate and competitive cost plans that help win work and set projects up for success. The RoleAs Estimator, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates covering labour, materials, plant, subcontractors, and utilities.
- Leading the financial and commercial aspects of the pre-contract process.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify opportunities and risks.
- Producing budgets, cost plans, and tender submissions aligned with project objectives.
- Managing pre-qualification questionnaires and pre-bid submissions.
- Engaging with the supply chain to obtain robust quotations and buildable solutions.
- Steering the design team toward cost-effective and practical options.
- Assessing contractual amendments and commercial risks.
- Preparing JCT contracts where required.
- Procuring quantities for groundworks, masonry, joinery, finishes, and other work packages.
- Leading the handover from estimating to the delivery team.
- Maintaining and developing strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Reporting regularly to senior management on tender progress and outcomes.
- Overseeing and maintaining Causeway Estimating software.
- Attending client, consultant, and design team meetings, as well as site visits where necessary.

Essential Skills & Experience- Previous experience as an Estimator within the construction industry.
- Quantity Surveying background or strong commercial knowledge.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience using Causeway Estimating software.
- Sound understanding of contractual risk and procurement.
- Commercial awareness and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable presenting to clients and participating in tender interviews.
- Ability to travel for meetings and site visits.
