A well-established building contractor operating across Devon and Somerset is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team.
The business delivers a broad range of new build and refurbishment commercial projects, with tender values typically up to £5M. This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator looking to join a reputable regional contractor with a strong pipeline of secured and repeat business.
The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing competitive tenders, managing enquiries, and supporting the continued growth of the business across the South West.

The Role
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial construction projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
  • Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Produce bills of quantities and cost plans
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and commercial risks
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal delivery teams throughout the tender process
  • Support handovers to operational teams following successful bids

Requirements
  • Previous experience working as an Estimator within a main contracting environment
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and pricing
  • Experience working on projects up to £5M
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
