The Opportunity
A leading engineering and construction organisation is seeking an Estimator to play a key role in securing major projects by delivering robust and competitive cost estimates.

Estimator, Senior Estimator, Cost Engineer, Commercial Estimator, Bid Estimator, Pre-Construction Estimator, Project Estimator, Quantity Surveyor (pre-contract), Cost Planner, Tendering Engineer
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Produce detailed cost estimates for tenders, ensuring pricing is competitive, accurate, and aligned with project requirements
- Work closely with bid teams, planners, procurement, and technical specialists to develop cost-effective solutions and methodologies
- Build up pricing for labour, plant, materials, subcontract packages, and preliminaries using market insight and supplier engagement
- Contribute to risk and opportunity assessments, supporting robust tender submissions and commercial decision-making
- Compile final pricing documentation, present cost breakdowns at internal reviews, and support post-tender clarifications and handovers
- Proven experience in estimating within construction or civil engineering projects
- Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement practices, and contract forms
- Ability to interpret technical information and translate it into accurate cost plans
- Experience using estimating software and producing detailed cost models
- Commercial awareness with a methodical approach to analysing risk, value, and cost drivers
